Australian Cuisine

The national cuisine of Australia had a great influence from the British and subsequent immigrants. Modern Australian cuisine got its best from Mediterranean, Asian and European influences. These multicultural influences made the Australian cuisine diverse and ever-changing. However, there are some local specialties including native meats such as Kangaroo the popularity of which is increasing now. One can also try crocodile or emu provided one can buy it that cannot be so easy.

Australia, being the fourth largest wine exporting country in the world, is famous for its fine wines. The best wines come from Hunter Valley in New South Wales, Coonawarra Valley in Victoria and the Swan Valley in Western Australia. Those who prefer beer to wine will also find a few good brands that include VB, Carlton, Tooheys and internationally known Fosters.
